My cousin’s wedding turned out to be quite the family affair – not only was I the wedding photographer, but her brother was also performing the service!
It was a busy day for everyone, myself included. My day started at about 9.30, at Rowley Manor in Little Weighton, near Hull, having stayed over the night before. I went downstairs to photograph a few details, followed by the groom and his men getting ready and offer a few words of advice and encouragement (I’ll have been married four years later this year!). Chris was in good spirits and with barely a trace of nerves. We got some nice group shots and a couple of single portraits and he was good to go.

I picked up and headed down to the house to snap a few shots of Kate and her bridesmaids getting ready.
Kate had decided to walk up to the church, which is a beautiful old village church next to the manor, so I grabbed a shot or two of them arriving with my telephoto lens.
Then it was time for the service, which was lovely and well presided over by Rev. Dr. Andrew Davison, my other cousin!
After a few shots outside and on the swing they had made with their names on, and plenty of confetti later, we walked back to the manor house for the meal and speeches, which provided both laughter and also the occasional tear.
That was followed by music provided by the groom and his father and more general mingling.
Later in the evening, I set up my studio lights as a kind of drop in photobooth, so the bride and groom could make sure they could get pictures with family and friends, which proved to be very popular.
The next day we all headed to the seaside in a vintage bus to play in the sand!
It was a fantastic day which I was not only proud to be part of as a guest, but also as the photographer, providing images that the couple will cherish, reminding them of their special day.
Here’s what Kate had to say about their wedding photos:
The photos are super! We love the ones where you have caught real expressions that capture just how we were feeling. Now we just have to choose our favourites ready to do a photo board! We are incredibly grateful for your skill and time, lots of love Kato and Chris x x x
I still have spaces available for weddings in 2013 and 2014, (although both are booking up quickly!) so get in touch and book your amazing day now.
